About Linewise

Linewise captures how physical things are made, from the first design to the final assembly, and turns it into training data for frontier AI and robotics models. Our long-term aim is Physical RSI: recursive self-improvement for the physical world, where AI helps engineers design and plan, robots help build and inspect, and each generation makes better machines, lines and factories for the next. This role is part of Linewise Engineering, which captures the decisions behind a part: requirements, design iterations and analysis, process plans and inspection records, including rejected designs.

About the role

You'll own an engineering data line. You find and work with the design houses, engineering teams and factories that can produce design-lifecycle data: the requirements, the iterations, the analysis and the options that were rejected. You check every set that comes in, set the standard for your line and help contributors meet it. It suits a mechanical engineer who has shipped products, knows the tools deeply and is interested in AI.

What you'll do

• Find and bring on design houses, engineering teams and factories that can produce design-lifecycle data.
• Work with them to capture the full record of a design: requirements, iterations, analysis and rejected options.
• Review every incoming set against the spec, and send clear feedback when it falls short.
• Set the quality standard for your line, and help contributors meet it.
• Turn what you learn in review into better specs and clearer guidance for contributors.

What we're looking for

• A degree in mechanical or structural engineering, and products you designed that shipped.
• Deep skill in at least one of NX, SolidWorks or CATIA.
• You can read FEA results and judge a design for manufacturing.
• An interest in AI and in how models learn engineering work.
• Fluent English. Work and interviews are in English.
• No minimum years of experience. Early in your career and already excellent is welcome.

Nice to have

• A network among design houses, engineering teams or factories.
• Experience writing engineering standards or review checklists.
